How good is Oatmeal for weight loss?

How good is Oatmeal for weight loss or even for a simple modest breakfast? That’s a question that sticks with me fairly regularly on a busy working weekday. The reason is fairly simple, isn’t it? You wake up on a Monday morning, hit the gym, push it hard & then have an hour on hand to get ready, eat your breakfast before the crazy starts. For moments like these, you need a simple breakfast that can be made easily, keeps you full until lunch-tasty, is tasty & makes you feel satisfied. Oatmeal fits the bill for all this criterion.

I started my day with a humble Oatmeal breakfast today, & was looking at a packet of Quaker Oats earlier today & figured out that a serving size of 40 grams provides 163 calories of energy, 4.7g of protein, 3.8g of fat, 27g of carbohydrates, 4g of fiber and some traces of Iron, Magnesium, Sodium, and Zinc as well. That’s quite some nutrition for these modest oats, ain’t it?

You may argue that Oats look to be a great alternative to my regular breakfast, but 27g of carbohydrates – Isn’t that too much? The answer is, The carbohydrates that you get from unprocessed food ( straight from nature ) do not mess up with your blood-sugar levels. They release energy in smaller bursts simply because the body needs more time to digest them, in turn, keeping you full for a longer period of time. Do you remember the last time you ate a packet of instant noodles? How soon did you feel hungry again or even grumpy? Natural foods don’t do that to you.
